Online Trauma Therapy for Women in Louisiana, Hawaii, Florida, & Colorado
You never expected to be a trauma survivor. Now, the memories of your trauma haunt you. You find yourself replaying the events of that day over and over in your head. “It wasn’t supposed to go this way!” “I should have never gone there.” “Why didn’t I call for help?”
Trauma impacts all areas of your life
Traumatic experiences often have lingering effects. The effects of trauma can be felt in all aspects of your life. You're distancing yourself from the people you once felt close to. The people who used to bring you joy. You avoid the places you once loved to go to. Essentially, you isolate yourself as a way to protect yourself. You often find yourself saying “I just don’t want to think about it anymore!” Yet, no matter what you try, all you do is think about your trauma. You feel fearful and anxious, numb, and angry.
Things that used to be simple, like getting dressed in the morning or taking the trash out, now take extra amounts of energy and focus. And you wonder, “will I always feel this way from now on?”
Online Therapy for Trauma Survivors
Surviving a traumatic experience has a major impact on your life. But, you can learn to live again. Healing from trauma is hard, but you do not have to do it alone. I am here to help you regain the control that was taken from you.
I am a compassionate online therapist with extensive experience working as a trauma counselor. Healing after a life-altering experience can be hard. That is why we work together at a pace that feels comfortable for you. During online therapy, we identify your goals. Then I will provide you with tools and skills for you to practice in and outside of sessions that will help you cope. Together during online trauma therapy, we create the mental, emotional, and physical space for you to process your experience, and facilitate healing.
My Approach to Online Trauma Counseling
Ultimately, my goal is to help you process your trauma and give you the tools you need to feel whole again. To do this I use a combination of evidence-based therapies to assist you on your journey towards emotional wellness. These include:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT is a short-term therapy that aims to challenge and change the negative thoughts that you feel after experiencing trauma and teach positive coping techniques.
Mindfulness: the practice of being in the present moment through guided meditation and relaxation techniques.
Narrative Therapy: a form of therapy that helps you separate yourself from your problems. Then, you will learn how to use the skills you already have to cope with your trauma and re-frame your life story.
Trauma Therapy/ Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT): therapeutic practices developed to help you cope with trauma.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)/Tapping: EFT involves tapping fingertips on your meridian points to help relieve physical and emotional pain.
