Online Therapy for Women with Anxiety in Louisiana, Florida, Hawaii & Colorado
Worry, stress, and anxiety have been a part of your life for as long as you can remember. As a child, you worried about your report card and whether your friends liked you. Then, in your teens those worries you once had as a child became more powerful. You found yourself worrying about college applications and what you're going to do with the rest of your life. Now you're an adult and your worrying has begun to interfere with your day to day life.
You find yourself worrying about everything all the time.
At work, you find yourself wondering what your coworkers think of you. You worry about whether you are doing a good enough job? Do they like you? You put pressure on yourself to excel at work because you don't want your efforts don’t go unnoticed. You want people to like you and to think highly of you. So you go above and beyond to prove your worth and to make sure you’re doing things “just right.”
Those perfectionistic tendencies don’t get left behind at work. They follow you home. You have high expectations for yourself as a wife and mother. You crave order and calmness, but a house full of little ones is anything but calm. You want to keep your household together. So you try to be the best mom, the best friend, and the best spouse you can be. And from the outside, it looks like you do have it all together.
You’re not alright. you’re constantly anxious.
Sometimes, it feels like a dark, looming cloud of anxious thoughts that are swirling over you like a hurricane. It doesn’t take much for your heart to start racing, for your face to feel hot, and for your breathing to become shallow. You feel like you’re on the verge of a panic attack. And every little thing seems to set you off, and you find yourself snapping at your kids and spouse. Something needs to change, but getting help seems daunting.
Anxiety has the ability to weave its way into every area of our lives in ways we never expected. Figuring out how to control your anxious and unwanted thoughts can be challenging. But the good news is that online therapy is a way for you to figure out what's causing these thoughts. Then, you can learn how to cope with your anxiety in new ways.
I help women find relief from their anxiety
I help clients find ways to work through the thoughts that cause them to feel anxious. Then, we develop a plan to reframe those thought patterns in helpful ways. I will help you learn new coping mechanisms that are unique to you so you will feel calmer and in control. My goal is to help you develop skills and tools that you can use to relax in times of stress at home or at work.
Ultimately, my hope is for you to feel safe and free to openly explore your thoughts and feelings during online therapy. I provide a judgment-free space and will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
To help you find emotional wellness, I use a combination of evidence-based therapies including:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT is a short-term therapy that aims to challenge and change negative thoughts that cause anxiety. Then you will learn positive coping techniques to use in times of stress.
Mindfulness: the practice of being in the present moment through guided meditation and relaxation techniques that you can use when you feel anxious.
Narrative Therapy: a method of therapy that helps you separate yourself from your problems through storytelling. Then, you learn how to use the skills you already have to cope with your issues and re-write your story.
Trauma Therapy/ Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT): techniques developed to help you cope with trauma.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)/Tapping: EFT involves tapping fingertips on meridian points to help relieve physical and emotional pain and worry.
